6.2 - EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Association shall be administered and governed by an
Executive Committee comprising of 10 members to be
nominated by the general body for a period of 2
Gregorian years. The members of the Executive Committee
are to be nominated and elected from the members of the
Association.
Meetings of the Committee shall be headed by a Chairman
to be appointed among the members of the Committee. The
Chairman shall posses at least 10 years of experience in
Liner / Tramp Ships agencies and shall have been
carrying out such activities in the UAE for at least 5
years.
The Committee shall also appoint a Vice - Chairman. The
Vice - Chairman shall also posses at least 10 years of
experience in Liner / Tramp Ships agencies and shall
have been carrying out such activities in the UAE for at
least 5 years.
Decisions of the Committee shall be resolved with simple
majority of it's members : the Chairman shall have a
casting vote.
Official correspondence with authorities shall be
conducted through the General Secretary, to be appointed
by the Committee.
The treasurer to be appointed by the Committee amongst
them shall handle the accounts and finance of the
Association.
The Executive Committee has an Honorary Chairman who is
not a regular member of the Committee. The Director
General of Dubai Ports and Customs Department shall be
hereby appointed as Honorary Chairman. The Honorary
Chairman shall provide support and guidance and
contribute to the development of the Association.
